Hibiscus Tea (brewed ahead of time and cooled)
The fruit can either be freshly sliced, or frozen.
For Bria, she likes using organic frozen fruit because it means using less ice and results in a more consistent texture for the smoothie. However, she says using fresh ingredients will result in deeper and more intense flavors from the fruit.
In your smoothie, add the chilled hibiscus tea and agave nectar, followed by any fresh ingredients, then frozen ingredients, and finally the ice. Add any additional agave nectar for sweetness.
Layering the ingredients in this way helps create a consistent texture, absent of lumps.
